I came across your blog and what a surprise!!! Your collection of Erte is exquisite. I knew him for the last 10 years of his life and I have traveled around the world with a lecture on Erte’s life and art. Thank you for sharing this.

    • Thats AMAZING! I love his illustrations. Well if you ever want to share some of your writing on him here, i would be more than happy to publish it under your name, and i m sure i can dig up more of his work to illustrate it. 🙂

      Good Luck to you Stephan

I will keep that in mind. He was always very kind to me and was always excited to hear about the projects I was working on whenever we met. He even owned a few of my own pieces which is the best compliment that I could ever receive.
        Cheers, Stephan

  2. Thats Amazing! ❤

I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in southern California and then about 20 years in San Francisco. I live in Oregon now design sets and performing and directing shows. You should check out my pages at http://www.artdecosociety.org/stephan

  3. That’s amazing, i love your work. The video was really great to watch, wanted to see more.
I love your description on art deco, it is one of my favorite periods also, and like you say it was so international, and weather it was architecture, art, illustration or furniture design it reached exquisite heights in all those fields.
A few years ago i went to see a screening at Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam, they had recently restored it to it original glory, since at some point all the interior murals were painted a horrible red, and it was just so amazing. i don’t think i quite enjoyed it as much as i should have, but it was so monumental and my time there was limited, 🙂

my dream is to live in an art deco apartment downtown LA.

    till later

ps: i also really like your sweater. so nice
