ART DECO
Armand Albert Rateau was hired during the 20’s by Jeanne Lanvin to design her apartment at 16 rue Barbet-de-Jouy, Paris. The living room, boudoir and bathroom of the apartment were reassembled by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris in 1985. ❤

About 3 years ago. I put on an exhibition of all things Art Deco for our city’s visual arts center. It took about 2 years work but it was worth it. It was one of the most well attended events at the gallery and people came from many states away when they heard of it. We had furniture, clothing, jewelry, magazines, radios, pottery, china sets and art. In the smaller gallery upstairs, I put together an exhibit on “Retro Deco’ and showed the works of artists who are still working in the art deco style today. It was a lot of fun.
Cheers,
