The New Economy (18th century costume)

The new economy developed rapidly during this period, with great emphasis on costume production. Weaving industries in England transformed as a result of new markets opening up in Spain, imports of Indian cotton and the silk mills opening at large. Cotton revolutionized Europe, providing abundant white, light materials to work with, dye/color and print on.
